  2. Appearance The southern brown bandicoot has brown fur with beautiful golden streaks that cover most of its body. Under the bandicoots skin is normally a white colour or creamy colour. The bandicoot is a small and quick marsupial that changes in size and weight.

  3. Diet • Bandicoots eat small insects plants seeds spiders and berries. When looking for food they dig in the soil and rummage in the fallen leaves on the ground. They hold their food in their front paws to eat it. The bandicoot is an omnivore which means it eats both meat and plants.

  4. Breeding • The female mates at night and the young are born in the daytime in their secure nests. The long nosed bandicoot has the shortest period of any mammal to make babies. Bandicoots take up to 12 and a half days to have two to three babies.

  5. Threats • Bandicoots have lots of threats like foxes cats and dogs. Stuff like this can cause diseases so just stay away from dead bandicoots.
