  7. www.healthy-kids.info Stage 1Tissue Irritation Symptoms occur after exposure but leave no sign of tissue damage. Headache, joint pain, muscle pain, red eyes, sore throat, fatigue, mild asthma, flushing, nausea, dizziness, pruritis, persistent irritating cough, uncharacteristic irritability, moodiness, inability to concentrate. Often mistaken for "viral infection" "flu-like symptoms". Person may not suspect chemical exposures. "I feel like I'm coming down with a cold." "I must have whatever is going around." "I must be under a lot of stress." "I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me."

Anti-inflammatory steroids may reduce discomfort but mask symptoms. Inflammation can not heal if chemical exposures continue.
