  1. HRC INCOSE Yearly Review 2004 Agenda: • Elections   • Where we are financially • Recap of last year’s activities • Tutorial in February • Christmas party • Suggestions from members on upcoming events

  2. 2005 Elections • Nominating ballots will (have) gone out. • Need nominee for Secretary. Mark has taken a new job as a high school Physics teacher – ‘nuff said. • Need nominee for industry rep. • Need nominee for membership committee lead.

  3. Where We Are Financially • Started • Now • Revenue sources • February tutorial

  4. Recap Of Year’s Activities • Jan – “To the Moon and Beyond”, Bill Carswell • Feb – “CMMI and Agile”, Dick Stutzke • Mar – “MIMOSA”, Alan Johnston • Apr – “Object Oriented Systems Engineering (OOSE)”, Celeste D. Micholits • May – “Rocket Science or Systems Engineering? Or both?”, John Carter • Jun – “Value of SE”, Eric Honour (sort of) • Aug – “SE and the Lunar Rover”, Ron Creel • Sep – “UAH Distance Learning Center”, Jo Ann Jones and Lisa Strickland

  5. Tutorial in February • “Measurable Systems Engineering” by Eric Honour. • Offered [almost] gratis because of previously “gaff” in June. • February 12th has been tentatively set. • SPIN organization is helping with hosting duties. • Cost for tutorial: $100 for non-members; $? For INCOSE and sponsors? • Volunteers

  6. Christmas Party • Is this something we want to do? • Suggestions for when and where. • Budget?

  7. Suggestions for Upcoming Events from Members • Appoint a committee to solicit and collect ideas? • Committee would publish list of ideas together with their priority. • Membership would vote on items in list. • Committee would engage membership to organize and execute the selected events.

  8. Notes from Meeting • Attending were: Joel Thornton, Kurt Springfield, Tom Tytula, Rick Leonard, Wanda Carswell, visiting member from Alberquque (Tom), Jerry Wocken • Tom Tytula recommended that we send the President to the workshop in January. It’s a good opportunity for networking and meeting committee members. Action: Wanda will find out the date and location and let Rick know. • Tutorial in February – Charge $50 for members; $100 for sponsors and $120 for non-members? No definitive answer. Rick and Wanda will be meeting further on this. • Christmas party – Should we have one? No definitive answer, but first impression was that there are a lot of other activities that time of year and it may not be feasible to make plans now. • Upcoming events – Tom Tytula recommended that we institute a Programs committee to solicit ideas and make them happen. • Attendance of meetings is down. What can we do to boost attendance? Have the meetings earlier? Once a quarter have a forum for discussing and receiving help for SE problems? • Elections – Tom Tytula recommended that Rick and Wanda get together and read the bylaws and constitution together. They call for the establishment of a membership committee. The President appoints a chair. Tom volunteered to check the INCOSE website to see if there were new members to be added to our list. • 8:30 pm – meeting was adjourned.
