  3. Introduction In Alberta's electricity and gas market, consumers are given the choice to remain with a Regulated Rate Option provider or a Competitive Retailer. With a Regulated Rate Option, the consumer will receive the default service and rates. With a Competitive Retailer, the consumer is given a choice of various different services, terms, and rates.Data is collected from the distribution companies to monitor residential, farm, small commercial, and large commercial consumers that have opted out of the regulated service to the competitive retail service.

  4. Send Form Show Me Use the Send Form screen to send a Switching Statistics correspondence with a file attachment. The attached file MUST follow the file specifications below: Filename: ClientID_StartDate_EndDate.csv ORClientID_StartDate_EndDate.xml File Format: CSV or XML file Click on More Informationto view how to send correspondence on switching statistics.For more information about the file specifications, click the document link below. Click here for File Specifications • Comments - Comments are optional. Comments field default to the value filled in account preferences. • FormType - You can narrow your selection to a specific Form Type – Switching Statistics • Contact - Contact information includes the first name, last name, phone number and client account name. Contact defaults to the user who is logged in. • BusinessAssociate - Shows the DOE Client ID and name assigned to a distribution company. Select the appropriate BA from the list. • Notes - You may attach any Notes to your correspondence. Notes can be a maximum of 1024 characters. Only letters and numbers are accepted. No special characters allowed. • Continued

  5. Send Form (Continued) • Filename -For Switching Statistics, the File Name follows a standard file naming convention. See the required file specifications • Browse - Browse button allows you to select a file from a stored location. • Add - Clicking on the Add button allows you to attach the selected file. • FileName - Switching Statistics Files that you have attached to your correspondence are listed under this column. • Remove - If a file was attached incorrectly, the file can be unattached by clicking on the Remove link for the specific file. • Submit - Clicking on the Submit button will display a confirmation dialog box requesting you to confirm or cancel the submission. • Reset - Reset button clears the information entered on the screen and removes the files added.
