Middle school students will increase their persuasive writing scores by 1.5 points on the State Rubric. Middle school students will increase their Number and Numerical Short Constructed Response scores by 2.0 points on the State Rubric. Implementation- 1. January- Melissa McCooley & Georgette Boulegeris will meet with Language Arts Literacy and Social Studies departments to present the “On Demands” writing responses. 2. “On Demand” writing prompts will be distributed and completed on a monthly (January through June) basis. 3. Teachers will grade and submit a copy of the data results to the school’s principal and Director of Curriculum. When the “On Demand” writing prompt is administered in the Social Studies classroom, the Social Studies teacher with the LAL teacher will grade and submit data together. 4. Teachers will use the data results to modify and drive instruction in the classrooms. 5. Small Group/Whole Class mini lessons will be developed and implemented in the following week’s lesson plans to address the learning needs identified through the “On Demand” writing scores. These lessons will be outlined in the teacher lesson plan. 6. Data results will also be used to assist in the scheduling and activity development of the NJASK Tutoring program that will begin in February. Implementation- 1.
