What do Oppression look like? • Tradition: Men are the head of the house. • Women who speak out for their passion of pursuing education could be killed, abused, or raped. • Girls who want to receive education could be considered breaking the “law”
The Least Equitable Countries:YEMEN • Women have a 55% literacy rate • Nearly half of girls never step foot in a classroom • Only one percent of women ever attend college
The Least Equitable Countries:Chad • Women have a 24% literacy rate • Just 5 percent of women attend secondary school (high school).
