STEM Education in our Florida Schools Where does engineering fit in?
Florida STEM: STEM education is the intentional integration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and their associated practices to create a student-centered learning environment in which students investigate and engineer solutions to problems, and construct evidence-based explanations of real-world phenomena with a focus on a student’s social, emotional, physical, and academic needs through shared contributions of schools, families, and community partners.
FDOE Strategic Technology Plan • In the 2014 Florida Legislative Session, Section 1001.20, Florida Statutes, was updated to require the Florida Department of Education to develop a five-year strategic plan for assisting districts in establishing Florida Digital Classrooms.

Digital Classroom Plans (DCP) • As required by s. 1011.62(12)(b), Florida Statutes (F.S.) each District School Board shall submit to the department a Digital Classrooms Plan (DCP) that has been adopted by the district school board. The district plan shall meet the unique needs of students, schools and personnel in the district. A DCP allocation has been established to assist districts in this effort under s. 1011.62(12)(c), F.S.
