    4. The Technology The C-Valve is a double chambered Piston Valve & 3-way pilot system that provides maximum protection to networks, even under extreme conditions, due to its rapid and accurate response to line fluctuations.

    5. The Technology

    6. The Technology

    7. The Technology Hydrodynamic design High flow rate Low head loss saves pumping costs Laminar flow in all but extreme conditions Linear flow design Symmetrical waterway Piston valve double chamber actuators Fully opens with very low head loss Linear design structure Immediate response to pressure fluctuations Soft closure to prevent water hammer despite fast response

    8. The Technology Accurate and stable regulation for a wide range of pressures and flow rates The system enables regulation at higher than standard pressures in a wide range of flow rates, down to zero flow, and is capable of reducing pressures to more than 10:1 ratio. This is enabled by our unique 3-way pilot and the hydrodynamic structure & linear flow design. Operates at low pressures & high Dp at all flow rates

    11. Case Study Conclusions: The leakage benefit analysis indicated a leakage reduction of 0.24ML/day/1000km. Financial benefit of approximately Ł11,000/1000km/year The burst reduction shows a reduction of 5 bursts/1000km/year This equates to a saving of around Ł9,300/1000km/year. Total financial benefit to SESW through replacing their non-conventional PRV's with C-Valve PRV's is Ł20,300/1000km/year. For a pressure managed area that is 10km in length, the expected savings is approximately Ł200/year.

    12. The C-Valve has been selected by Sydney Water for its pressure management program consisting of over 300 valves After initial trial of six valve, SWC have selected C-Valves for Stage 1 of their pressure reduction program Over 150 valves installed to date

    13. Applications - SWC SWC Design criteria Compact design and modular construction meant servicing can be done outside the pit and common spares can be employed Multivalve design enables by pass to be incorporated in the valve manifold to eliminate expensive bypass pipe work Important for SWC since installing in established suburbs – construction impact and remediation costs a key concern for program design Low and high flow capability of the valve simplifies the design process – they could standardise on the DN150 valve body for all applications

    14. Mt Crosby reservoir – Ipswich branch line Booster pumps installed on main line back to Brisbane Pressure and flow can increase from 30 l/s at 30m head up to 800 l/s at 55m head PRV bank must respond from fully open within 1.5 seconds to protect Ipswich cast iron pipes from excess pressure. Max downstream is 45m C-Valve is the only valve on the market that could meet the specification of the design engineers Valve successfully commissioned in May 2007 Applications - Brisbane Water

    21. The Benefits Accurate and stable regulation for a wide range of pressures and flow rates. Low head loss reduces Cp issues Low noise – Easier acoustic correlation Light weight – Simple installation Surge restriction - Protects downstream network High resistance to cavitation - Long service life Easy maintenance – reduced costs of ownership Wide performance parameters allows downsizing, reducing capital costs

    22. The Benefits High flow rates in small valves gives ‘head room’ for fire flows Regulation down to zero flow in all sizes – no need for low flow bypasses Normally Closed options for critical locations where protection is paramount The manifold concept allows incredible flexibility A complete valve, bypass and isolating valves, flanged 150mm is less than 1250mm long, potential civil engineering cost reductions Remote pilot adjustment – up to 30m from the valve Pilot can interface with Modulo, Autowatt, Ecowatt, Wessex, Pegasus, PLC etc.

    23. Avoid Bypass Construction – Reduce Risk
