  1. Examine the functions of two of the three branches of government. Executive: Head of state & head of government. Ceremonial leader of the nation.

Administration: Appoints heads of executive departments i.e. state department, defense, treasury, press secretary, CIA etc…and gives direction to them. 4. Nominates supreme court justices

  6. Judicial: The Supreme Court • Interprets the law (did lower courts apply the law correctly). • Determines the constitutionality of law (Judicial Review). • Safeguards the constitution • Settlement of disputes (state v. federal rule). • “The power of the court is the power of trust earned”.
