The role of the AU President • 3 key areas: • Overall responsibility for all 55 AU Clubs • Lead a team of 9 AU Exec members • Liaise with the SDC on all matters relating to the student sport experience
Relationship between AU and SDC • Work very closely in partnership however separate businesses technically • Joint Aim: to maximise the student sport experience • SDC is responsible for managing facilities, IMS, Performance sport as well as much more • There is 7 SDC staff that now work in the Students Union

AU Exec 2012/13 ??? • 8 positions: - Secretary, Healthy Living and Recreation Officer, WoW Magazine Content Editor, Web, Media & Communications Officer, Event Coordinator (x3) and IMS Chair (elected at Sports Sec meeting) • Elected at AU AGM held on the 21st of May at 6pm • Those wishing to stand are required to do a 2 minute speech followed by questions • Nominations open 7th of May. Application form to be sent out at a later date!
AU Awards 2011/12 • 7 awards: - Club of the Year, Team of the Year, Most Improved Club, Sportsman & Sportswoman of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Student Coach of the Year • Awarded at the 24th Annual AU Ball • Nominate at www.lufbra.net/au/auawards Deadline is tonight!!! • Nominees shortlisted by AU President and then voted by AU Exec. Quality of the nomination is important
