Data Assessment Records and Analysis For the first three year CycleSemesters 081-102 Program Assessment Committee (PAC) • Dr. HussainAl-Zaher • Dr. HussainAl-Jamid • Dr. Ibrahim El-Amin • Dr. Hassan Ragheb • Dr. Essam Hassan. • Mr. Mohammad Tamim
Rubric Based Assessment • Rubric = a scoring tool for subjective assessment. • A rubric contains a set of performance indicators. • PI’s = A set of statements that can be used to rate students achievements. • Benchmark • A threshold of 2.4 out of 4 (or equivalently 60%) • Outcomes score < 60 % required corrective action(s) • Outcomes score > 60 % optional actions (suggestions for improvement )
Term 081 Outcome A Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.
Term 081 Outcome B Design and conduct electrical engineering experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data .
Term 081 Outcome C Design an electrical system, component, or process to meet desired needs.
Term 082 Outcome E Identify, formulate, and solve electrical engineering problems.
Term 082 Outcome H Acquire the broad education necessary to understand the impact of electrical engineering solutions in a global and societal context.
Term 091 Outcome D Function on multi-disciplinary teams.
Term 091 Outcome F Understand professional and ethical responsibility.
Term 092 Outcome I Recognize the need for, and be able to engage in life-long learning.
Term 092 Outcome J Acquire knowledge of contemporary issues.
Term 101 Outcome G Communicate effectively.
Term 101 Outcome M Use effectively information technology tools to design, develop, and implement electrical systems.
Term 102 Outcome K Use the techniques, skills, and modern electrical engineering tools necessary for engineering practice..
Term 102 Outcome L Apply probabilistic methods and statistics to electrical engineering problems.
Closing the Loop for the first three-year cycle: • All outcomes have passing scores. • The score of all outcomes are higher than 2.8/4, except for outcomes (a) and (h) (i.e. 2.72 and 2.67) • These two results are satisfactory, need some actions for improvement. • Due to the relatively low performance in EE340 for outcome (a) and EE380 and EE360 for outcome (h). • PAC asked the concerned departmental groups for feedback and suggestions.
Conclusion • DAD initiating process of self assessment of graduate program • Comments • Suggestions • Actions
Modifications The PAC has decided to adopt a modified score levels as follows: • Scores 2.8-to-4 are Highly Satisfactory. • Scores 2.4-to-2.79 are Satisfactory. • Scores 2.0-to-2.39 are Marginally Satisfactory. • Scores below 2.0 are Unsatisfactory.
