  3. TEL Application Profile for Objects • Based on Dublin Core • Additional elements from other metadata sets + “TEL elements” • Core of elements in common: elements of the profile trigger functionality in TEL portal (examples will be given)

  4. Where to find information about TEL APs? • Currently: TEL Metadata Handbook http://www.theeuropeanlibrary.org/metadatahandbook … until 27/01/2007 • then: TEL Handbook + TEL Metadata Registry

  5. Mappings & conversions • MARC21/UNIMARC to TEL AP Objects standard mappings available • According to access protocol: • Via TEL Z39.50/SRU gateway: automatic conversions from MARC21, UNIMARC, COMARC, UKMARC, DENMARC, some XML formats • Via SRU or OAI-PMH: library does conversion
