  3. Proof of Funding: Bank Statement • Must be from an account that lets you take out money at any time: checking, savings, money market. You are NOTrequired to freeze funds • Must show account holder’s name in English • Must have a date of February 15, 2018 OR LATER • Must show required amount for your degree studies (undergraduate or graduate) • *If applicable, must show additional amount for dependents: $7500 for husband/wife and $5000 for each child

  6. Proof OF Funding: Financial Guarantee Requirements • Must cover the dates of the Spring 2019 term. The effective date must be January 22, 2019 and the void date must be May 15, 2019 • Must match your Spring 2019 program (Bachelor’s or Master’s) • Must cover tuition, health insurance, living expenses, and if applicable dependents ($7500 for husband/wife and $5000 for each child)

  10. all Students mUST SUBMIT THE Certificate of Financial Responsibility (CFR) • Must complete ALL sections of the CFR. • How to complete CFR, page 3 depending on your situation: • Bank Statement is from YOUR account: You (the student) must complete and sign page 3 of the CFR – must provide handwritten signature. • Bank Statement is from a FAMILY MEMBER or FRIEND’s account: You (the student) AND the account holder (the family member or friend) must complete and sign page 3 of the CFR – must provide handwritten signature. • Government sponsor: The sponsor is NOT required to complete form. You still have to sign page 3 of the CFR – must provide handwrittensignature.

Sponsor Total goes here Student completes this line and signs name – signature must be handwritten If student’s bank statement is from a family member or friend, that person completes this line and signs name – signature must be handwritten The signature(s) must be handwritten. You MUST print the last page of the CFR, sign it, and scan it Page 3

  15. Where to submit proof of funding documents? After you have read all of the information and are ready to submit the required documents, click on the blue button on the bottom of the website. This will take you to the online upload form.

  19. CHECK YOUR MASON EMAIL EVERY DAY • We will send you an email if we cannot accept your Proof of Funding documents • The subject line of the email will be “I-20 Cannot be Issued” • DO NOT ignore the email

You will not receive your Degree I-20 before you leave the U.S. • Travel Information • Travel Outside of the U.S. and Return to George Mason for Spring 2019 • 1. Remain in good academic standing • 2. Make sure your I-20, passport, and visa are valid for re-entry into the U.S. • Check your Mason email to find out the schedule for Travel Signature Session in December • Go to Travel Signature Session to get an advisor’s signature on the second page of your I-20
