Final Exam • Scores were horrible Reduced importance (only 5 points) Will re-do/re-take final exam as Quiz 0 • You will re-do the open-ended portion of the final exam as homework and turn it in on Friday, January 11th. • You will re-take the multiple-choice portion of the final exam on Friday, January 11th.

  3. Semester Grades • No rounding of 3rd marking period grades • Added 3% boost for semester grades • If you had a + in your 3rd marking period grade, semester grade should be rounded up to the next grade • Check semester grade, see me if there are issues • Reasons: • balance out grade distribution • compensation for effort

  4. Changes for this semester • Tests/quizzes • Pair/Group Projects

Changes to Tests/quizzes • Tests/quizzes will be all or nothing • Must score 90% or better • if (score>=0.90) { put score in gradebook }else { put 0 in gradebook } • Can re-take tests/quizzes as many times as needed • Must wait 3 days between re-takes • Time to review mistakes • Reason: Reward for preseverance

  6. Changes to Tests/quizzes • Tests/quizzes will be on online system: QuizStar • Designed to be taken as closed book/notes exam • You’ll have online access, but I will trust that you will not cheat. You’re allowed to re-take as many times as you need so cheating only hurts yourself. • Benefit: use of Eclipse for testing code

  7. Pair/Group Projects • Still to be decided but there will be at least one VERY large pair/group project • Will count for a significant portion of your assignment/lab work grade • More details toward the end of marking period
