  1. Ammunition Depot Provides Ammo for the World’s Pistol Caliber: 9mm Some debates will never be settled. One of those debates in the world of firearms is: 9mm versus… the rest of them, as the best all-around home-defense, law enforcement, military, and everyday carry caliber. The reality is that every person and every situation is unique, so there’s no perfect gun or perfect caliber for everything. That being said, there’s a reason that 9mm ammo is far and away one of the planet’s most common handgun calibers sold. In fact, here are a few: Stopping Power and Penetration That the bigger a bullet is, the better it’s going to be at dropping someone coming after you seems like an obvious, undeniable reality. According to the ballistics established by years of FBI research, however, that conclusion is based almost entirely on “myth and folklore.” Their testing found “little to no noticeable difference in the wound tracks” between a high- performance 9mm round and .45 ACP. Additionally, the lighter weight of a 9mm round means the shot will “drive” it deeper than the average penetration of a .40 S&W or .45 ACP.

  2. Steadier Shooting and Bulk Ammunition A ballistic fact that isn’t myth or folklore is that larger caliber cartridges need more powder to throw them at a target. That means greater recoil, more muzzle flip, and therefore, less accuracy. As popular as it’s become to swear off any caliber smaller than .40 S&W as “anemic,” in a gunfight, it’s accuracy that counts. And bigger bullets that aren’t hitting someone threatening your life aren’t doing much good. Which is why the FBI and an increasing number of police departments are buying bulk 9mm ammo. More Options for Guns and Ammo The emergence of the 9mm as one of the most popular (and arguably, versatile) handgun calibers is a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy increasing its value. Because the more popular it is, the more gun manufacturers make 9mm pistols in more variety, from sub-compacts for concealment, to 1911-style beasts. And with more guns come more varieties of 9mm ammo for sale, from target-tagging wadcutters to high-grain HWP+Ps. Higher Capacity and Lower Cost That great variety has a universally-appealing side-effect as well—it means that 9mm ammunition, particularly basic FMJ ball cartridges, can be bought for less money than ammo for less commonly available calibers. Beyond saving money always being a bonus, less expensive ammo often translates into an increased practicality and likelihood of training by the gun’s owner. As shooting a gun properly takes practice, anything that makes it easier for a gun owner to train with their gun is a good thing. For members of the military and law enforcement, a smaller round means more capacity. And that can mean a saved life. Pick up the ammo you need at https://www.ammunitiondepot.com/
