Vision is critical • Since we will ban cars from certain areas people will feel that their freedom of choice is being restricted • A vision of „livable city” or so popular „inteligent city” is something people can relate to.
Context and strategy • Parking policy must be part of a bigger plan or strategy. If it is done as the only tool to regulate traffic in the city it will fail! • It is cruicial to propose a set of measures rooted in the context of both space (the city) and the culture
We are dealing with needs of inhabitants • It is important to gather data and assess the situation first! • There are lots of different methods but when using a questionnaires be speciffic ask „What transport modes were in use yesterday” not how GENERALLY you travel across the city.
Vision + Data -> Plan • Whenyouknow the situation and have a visionitis the time to plan the ways of getting „there”. • It’sgoodwhensomeone (EU, Ministry…) pays but without the situationassessment and a vision of the futureeven the best plan will not getyouanywhere. IF THE DESTINATION IS NOT KNOWN EVERY WIND DIRECTION IS BAD

We are dealing with people We can have the fanciest infrastructure, the most modern apps and solutions but without changing peoples behaviour we are not getting anywhere. Good dose of marketing always helps … … this is where the vision is important!
