What is a Town Officers Education Conference? • 1-Day conference for all town officials • Takes place in April (2 locations around VT) • 20 different workshops plus a Keynote • All officials are welcome!
History of TOEC • The TOEC Conferences have been around for 73 years • Andrew E. Nuquist –UVM Professor of Political Science • Established the Vermont League of Cities & Towns in 1967 • Advocate for Town Officer education and training
Why are TOEC’s important? • Education Opportunities • Provide updates on state government programs • Provide updates on legislative changes • Provide leadership education • Networking • Connect municipal leaders from across the state • All experience levels of officials are welcome • All municipal officials are welcome

Why Do We Present? • Opportunity to connect with town officials around the state • Promote the use of public digital mapping data • Promote the use of state online mapping applications (like the ANR Atlas) • Answer questions about digital mapping technology
What Do We Present? • Online and desktop mapping tools • Parcel mapping options • Examples of how mapping data can be used in a town office • Statewide parcel mapping data project and how towns can participate
Why Do We Plan? • Volunteering on planning committee helps to ensure that we can present about new data and projects (like statewide parcel mapping) • We learn about the needs and interests of town officials • We learn of opportunities to partner with other planning committee participants
