Aims of the Earth System Science Degree • Our Mission for ESS students: • Equip graduates with a range of scientific and related skills to understand our natural environment. • Provide an in-depth appreciation of the complex interactions between the atmosphere, oceans, solid earth and biosphere. • Teach the human, social and economic factors affecting the environment, in the past, present and future. • Students will graduate with: • A range of technical, scientific and practical skills required to monitor and investigate the environment. • Developed scientific and technical communication skills, with particular emphasis on the contemporary environmental agenda.

Overseas Options • Placements in USA: Colorado School of Mines; Pennsylvania State • Level 3 year of B.Sc. program spent in USA: Complete level 3 of • taught courses and dissertation at Leeds i.e. 4 year program • Graduate with B.Sc Hons International degree opposed to • normal B.Sc Hons. • Fees: Tuition and accommodation same as U.K. • Overseas option is exactly the same as offered at UEA and does not • require A-level AAB for entry! • Prerequisites for overseas option: Must obtain 2.1 or greater • in 1st year of ESS program to be considered for overseas option
