Claretian communications foundation, inc. CLARETIAN PUBLICATIONS-PHILIPPINES
BACKGROUND • The CLARETIAN COMMUNICATIONS FOUNDATION, INC. (CCFI) operates the Claretian Publications in the Philippines. • The Claretian Publications is a pastoral endeavor of the Claretian Missionaries in the Philippines that aims to promote a renewed spirituality rooted in the process of total liberation and solidarity in response to the needs, challenges, and pastoral demands of the Church. • The idea of establishing the Claretian Publications in the Philippines started in 1981 with the initiated program of dialogue by the Philippine Province with Latin America. However its formal and legal existence was made later in 1983, with Fr. Alberto Rossa, CMF as its first and founding director.
BACKGROUND • In 1984, Claretian Publications, Inc. bought an old and small printing press using its own fund , and the press was housed first in the basement of the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish church in Quezon City. • As the venture of the publications widened, a bigger printing press was established inside the Claret School of Quezon City Compound and later in 1992 it was renamed Claretian Communications, Inc. (CCI). • Later part of the 1990’s the printing press was sold but the work in the publications continued. In July 2002, as the Claretians give more focus in the publications of Bibles and relevant books, the operation of the Claretian Publications was reinvented under a legal entity as a Foundation. Thus, the making of its recent and existing legal name as Claretian Communications Foundation, Inc. (CCFI), still located inside the school compound.
BACKGROUND • The Claretian Publications endeavor in the Philippines has given birth to the creation of Pastoral Bible Foundation, Inc. (PBF) to give more focus on the work about Bible under the able leadership of Fr. Alberto Rossa, CMF. However, in 2006 PBF was made to focus on the work on Bible more particularly with our mission work in Macau. • CCFI continued its work on publishing and distributing Bibles and other relevant books here in the Philippines. Today, CCFI has established a name in religious publishing for its quality printing and contents. The books sell at a price people can afford as it responds to the call of evangelization using "what is most urgent, timely and effective.”
