  3. SUBCULTURE – WHAT IS IT ? Subculture is an unofficial part of the official culture with elements of protest. It is not for surely negative towards the official culture. As a rule young people belongs to this movement.

  4. SKATEBOARDERS • People who can’t leave without skateboard and music • People who prefer extreme • Young people substantially

  5. SKATERS’ SUBCULTURE Arose in the middle of 60th. At this period skaters preferred calm skating and calm music. Typical representative of such music – SKOUNDRELZ group. In the 70th the style of skating changed, it became aggressive, the same with music. For a long period the authorities placed skateboarding on the same footing as the street hooliganism and prohibited skaters to appear in the public places but in special places only.

  6. SKATERS’ SUBCULTURE As the result – skaters went underground. Underground was the place where skaters met with punk rock. At this period of time to be punk and to skate meant to say “Fuck off” to everybody who tried to control individual’s life. At the present days the conflict of skaters and authorities came down and the authorities accept this movement as is.

  7. LIZA SELIN Popular Sweden photojournalist. The main subject of her creative activity – pictures of skaters and surfers. From 1998 till 2003 she made a lot of pictures of the most popular skateboarder Ali Bulala. Together with his skaters’ group she visited a huge number of cities. Everywhere she made pictures.

  8. As the result – pictures’ exhibitions all over the world
