  3. INFORMATION ADVERTISING • Gives facts • Recipes • Rules • Etc.

  4. STATUS ADVERTISING • Makes you feel rich and important • Uses high status items (gold, diamonds, etc.)

  5. EMOTIONAL ADVERTISING • Makes you feel happy, sexy, sad, nostalgic…. • May use animals, kids, ……

  6. My personal favorite • Ha haha

  7. TESTIMONIAL ADVERTISING • Uses celebrities, opinions • Makes you feel … if it’s good for them it’s good for me!

  8. Advertising is placed where it attracts a certain audience: • Certain magazines advertise to their audience • Radio stations advertise to their audience • TV advertises to the audience most likely to watching at that time

  9. Now that you know the types of advertising let’s make a collage!!! • Front: include at least one example of each type of advertising – be sure you cut out and include the part of the ad that makes it information, emotional, etc.! • BE SURE YOU USE ADVERTISING – CATALOGS ARE NOT ADVERTISING! • Back: indicate which ad is which type and why… • Example: milk ad is testimonial because they use Kristi Yamaguchi who is a celebrity.
