  2. Acquainted • Part of Speech: Verb • Definition: Aware of or familiar with • Example: Becca was acquainted with Kendra before either of them came to MMSA.

  3. Lavish • Part of Speech: Adjective • Definition: Extravagant or unrestrained • Example: Many lottery winners are extremely lavish with their money, and lose it all quickly.

  4. Conscientious • Part of Speech: Adjective • Definition: Characterized by carefulness and responsibility • Example: Zachary is a conscientious student.

  5. Incognito • Part of Speech: Adjective • Definition: Being in disguise or undercover • Example: Celebrities sometimes go incognito to avoid the paparazzi.

  6. Suave • Part of Speech: Adjective • Definition: Smooth or sophisticated • Example: Solomon was suave as he asked the girl on a date.

  7. Hysterics • Part of Speech: Noun • Definition: Uncontrollable laughter • Example: Denaja went into hysterics when Mrs. Smith used her name in the vocabulary PowerPoint.

  8. Putrid • Part of Speech: Adjective • Definition: Rotten or decayed • Example: After the 9th graders leave, Mrs. Smith’s room often smells putrid.
