Standardised tests • Based on the NZ curriculum • Standardised(tried and tested on large numbers) • Published National averages • Determine how individuals are doing compared to students of the same age across the country • Identify high achieving students – accelerate • Identify students who need extra support • ‘One test, on one day’ - Bad hair days • Cross reference several results

  3. e-asTTle • Assessment Tools for Teaching and Learning • Online reading and number assessments • Published expectations/averages • Adaptive testing • As student gets questions right the test gets harder, if they make mistakes the test get easier • Ideally - half right and half wrong • Instant report • Results as a test score and a level
