Introduction “A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on. ” -Carl Sandburg. Being able to tell women when they are pregnant or if they're having a baby boy a girl is just amazing to me. A lot of women in the world cant even have children and just being able to tell someone is just a wonderful. What got me interested in this career field is I will be able to see a baby inside of a human and sonography period just seems really cool and fun! For me to get a better understanding of my career I will have to research in training, employment, pay, work environment, and important qualities I need to have.
Nature of Work • Apply a gel to aid the sound waves’ ability to show the inside of the body • Analyze the images to check for quality and adequate coverage of the area needed for diagnosis • Analyze images to provide preliminary findings for physicians • Operate equipment to get diagnostic images of areas in the patient’s body • Recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images
Working Conditions • Physical • Puts Gel to aid sound waves so you can see the inside of someone's body • Indoor • Does ultrasounds • Study Images of patients from ultrasounds • Full Time/ Flex Time
Training, Qualification, Advancement • Bachelors degree+ • 4+ years of college • University of Michigan • Classes I will take are anatomy, physiology, and mathematics

Summary Being an obstetric and gynecologic sonographer is a career that I will have in the future. What I look forward to the most is looking into a human and seeing a baby and telling a woman if she is having a baby boy or girl. What I do not look forward to in this career field would having to be recognizing and having to remember a lot of the things and photographs I see in patients. Overall I have learned that I will need to work as hard as possible if I want to get a career in obstetric and gynecologic syonography. I will have to work had for the rest of my high school years and even hard when I got to University of Michigan.
