  4. Brain (mental) • Flash backs/hallucinations • Changes in personality • Slows your reaction time • Influences decisions • Mood swings • Psychosis • Memory loss • Stress/depression • Withdrawal • Euphoria

  5. Family/Friends • Increased chances of abuse • Increased divorce rate • “Wrong crowd” • Stealing • Feelings of guilt • Isolation • Withdrawal from family/friends • Negative influence on siblings

  6. Money/Legal • Cost of drugs • Hospital fees • Lose of job (income) • Cost of lawyer • Careless under the influence • Borrow from others • Illegal substances • Fines, jail time, arrest

  7. School/Work • Poor grades • Acting up in school or at work • Cutting/no show • Lack of motivation • Suspended/expelled/fired • Drop out/quitting rate increases • Ruins future chances for success

Common Consequences • Ecstasy- seizures, liver failure • Heroin – HIV • Rohypnol – date rape • Psilocybin mushrooms – flashbacks, bad trip • Cocaine – heart attack • Inhalants – heart palpitations, lack of oxygen to the brain • LSD – recurring psychotic effects • Methamphetamine – swollen heart, psychosis

Common Behaviors • Ecstasy- extreme mood swings • Heroin – half conscious, nodding • Rohypnol – drowsy, affectionate, sleepy • Psilocybin mushrooms – hallucinating, depends on the trip • Cocaine – powerful, confident, violent • Inhalants – intoxicated • LSD – distorted views, hallucinating • Methamphetamine – convulsions, lashing out, hallucinating
