  2. Core Competency 10 Engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities

  3. Practice Behavior 10.1 Substantively and affectively prepare for action with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Attend PPAT, CFT, and IEP meetings Conduct interviews with children and professionals to identify strengths and limitations of the clients

  4. Practice Behavior 10.2 Use empathy and other interpersonal skills Listening carefully to the clients wants and needs Make good eye contact

  5. Practice Behavior 10.3 Develop a mutually agreed-on focus of work Child, Family, Team Meetings address the clients needs and what is in the child best interest. It helps get all parties involved on the case input on concerns.

  6. Practice Behavior 10.4 Collect, organize and interpret client data Conduct interviews with clients and professionals to gather information to set adequate goals.

  8. Practice Behavior 10.6 Develop mutually agreed-on intervention goals and objectives

  10. Practice Behavior 10.8 Initiate actions to achieve organizational goals Work with social workers to set up a family services packet for the clients

  11. Practice Behavior 10.9 Implement prevention interventions that enhance client capacities. Encourage foster parents to adequately provide for the children and attend to their basic necessitates and provide a safe and nurturing placement.

  12. Practice Behavior 10.10 Help clients resolve problems I will make sure I report any concerns or issues to the social worker assigned to the case

  13. Practice Behavior 10.11 Negotiate, mediate, and advocate for clients I will advocate in court for the best interest in the child

  14. Practice Behavior 10.2 Facilitate transitions and endings Collaborate with my supervisor throughout the process of the cases assigned to me.

  15. Practice Behavior 10.13 Social workers critically analyze, monitor, and evaluate interventions. I will make sure that the child’s needs are being met.
