Humoral Immunity •Humoral immunity – Host defenses that are mediated by antibody present in the plasma, lymph and tissue fluids.
Cellular Immunity •Cellular immunity – Host defenses that are mediated by antigen-specific T cells and various nonspecific cells of the immune system.
The Major Histocompatibility Complex MHC Molecule classes encoded by numerous genes: •Class I –expressed by nearly all nucleated vertebrate cells; present antigens to TC cells. •Class II –expressed only by APCs; present antigens to TH cells. •Class III – distinct from class I and II; complement components, inflammatory cytokines.
