  2. Course Description • This course provides students with a strong background in 7th Grade math concepts by tying all mathematical concepts together. Students will connect new material to previously learned concepts through discussion, practice, application and activities. Working through this course, the students will learn to use reasoning and to think abstractly to solve various problems.

  3. Topics • Ratios and Proportional Reasoning • Properties of Operations • Estimation • Rational Numbers • Expressions • Equations and Inequalities • Geometric Figures • Measure Figures • Probability • Statistics

  4. GradingYour grade will be calculated from the following: • Exams • Quizzes • HOMEWORK (5 pts per assignment) • Assignments/Projects • PSSA prep • Technology assignments

  5. Textbooks and Calculators • Textbook: Glencoe Math Course 2 • connectED.mcgraw-hill.com • TEXTBOOK is your responsibility—You lose it you must buy another copy • Calculator: Texas Instruments TI-15

  6. Expectations • Come to class prepared • Be on time • Bring all materials • Be respectful of yourself, classmates and teacher • Be responsible for yourself • Complete all assignments

  7. Requirements • Notebook/Pencils/Materials—Every Day! • Check website for missed assignments • Makeup work is in the back of the room • DO YOUR BEST • DO NOT be afraid to ask for extra help • 3 missed HW Assignments=DETENTION
