  2. This is the first page that you will see when you visit: www.irrvdistancelearning.org.uk This is the entry point for all Distance Learning courses. The Website – www.irrvdistancelearning.org.uk

  3. Here learners can click to register, if this is their first visit. After that they need only to enter their Username and Password. Login

  4. To access the Students area users need to enter their Gateway Access Key Code here. Gateway Access Key Codes

  5. This is the Students Area for distance learning students. Students Area Homepage

  6. The Courses area is where students access the study material for the courses they have enrolled on. Please note: You will need your Access Key Code to gain entry to the study material. Courses

  7. The Calendar area contains important dates relating to students’ Distance Learning studies Calendar

  8. The News section of the site contains the latest Distance Learning and associated news. News

  9. The Online Resource also contains a Discussion Forum. Created to promote innovation and networking, these discussion forums provide both a valuable information source and a national forum within which IRRV Distance Learning students can share and exchange views and seek guidance from fellow students. Users can select one of our avatars to accompany their profile, and soon they'll be able to upload their own photo. Discussion Forum

  11. The Search facility helps users find the information they need by carrying out a keyword search on words or phrases. Search Facility

  12. The Feedback facility allows immediate feedback to be sent to the distance learning and technical team. Feedback facility

  13. The following interactive courses are available for Revenues and Benefits Pathway candidates studying for the Certificate in Local Taxation and Benefits. Please be aware that the full online interactive Distance Learning service and the following features are not currently available for the Full Professional Qualification (this is to become available over 2010).   14. Once the user has logged in they will be taken to the course homepage. This is the homepage of the Housing and Council Tax Benefit Law. Course Homepage

  15. The Personal Profile area of the programme is where learners review their responses and scores and update their details. Personal Profile

  16. The Learning Centre area of the programme provides a range of activities and acts as the programme learning area enabling each learner to work their way through the study activities. Learning Centre

  17. At any time Learners can use the Feedback button within the programme to correspond with the course Tutor and the team. Feedback

  18. Each module in the Learning Centre has three activity types; Learning materials, Are you ready? and Assignments. Learning Centre Activities

  19. The Study skills module contains activities which will help the learner get motivated, set goals and plan their distance learning. Study skills module

  20. The core learning material is found in the Learning materials section of modules. Students can download PDF versions of study material by clicking on the relevant links. Learning materials

  21. The Are you Ready? activities contain check lists and Test Yourself questions so that learners can check their key understanding of the study material. Are you Ready?

  22. The Assignment area is where learners can complete and submit assignments for marking by their tutor. Assignment

  23. This Exam preparation module helps students get ready for their exam. It gives a reminder of what might be covered in the exam, details of how to apply for the examination and some tips on revision and getting ready for the exam day. Exam preparation

  24. This Resource Centre area of the programme acts as an online library. The learner can browse by subject or by document type. The user can also use the Search facility to search for keywords. Resource Centre

  25. Each course also contains a Discussion Forum. The course level discussion forum has been created to promote exchange views and seek guidance from fellow students on the course.
