  2. Info • Born in Warren County New York in early 1820’s to Irish immigrants-Died in 1896 • Known for pictures of the Civil War • Took pictures of Abraham Lincoln, Edgar Allan Poe, James Fennimore Copper • Not much known about his early life

Daguerreotypy • Started with taking pictures by using daguerreotypy- a process of creating a mirror image on a sliver-surfaced copper plate • Made jewelry and metal boxes using this process • He opened a studio in Washington D.C. for his daguerreotypy • Made daguerreotypyfor famous politicians
