  13. AIG • Both language arts and math teachers meet regularly with AIG teachers to design and develop enrichment and extension opportunities for AIG students • AIG Teacher follows the “push-in” model

  14. AIG • AIG students are clustered in math and language arts’ classes, ensuring AIG students have peers with common skill sets and interests • Support of contests and programs such as AMC 8, AMC 10, Super Saturday Events, NC State Science Camps, Peer Tutoring, and State Math Competition

Media & Technology • Document cameras and LCD Projectors mounted in all classrooms • 3 Open Computer Labs • Other Technology: SMART Boards, Ben-Q’s, iPads, iPod Touches, lap-top carts, Turning Point Clickers, Active Slates, flip cameras, etc… • Media center is open before and after school for student use • Language arts’ teachers are scheduled for the media center every other week to check-out books and participate in mini-lessons

  20. 2013-2014 PTA • Purchased 14 laptops for DDMS (with a goal of 15 more by the end of the year) • Sponsored ant-bullying guest speakers • Supported SEIC Anxiety workshop at DDMS • Parent Information Guide (in your hands) • Organize school dances • Cater staff appreciation luncheons • 100% of PTA membership and fundraising money goes to improve DDMS
