Habitat 340 are located in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. 380 are located in three different parks. The Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (Uganda), Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda) and Virunga National Park (Democratic Republic of Congo).
Characteristics • Diet: eat over 100 different species of plants. • Size: Standing height, 4 to 6 ft • Housing: Make nests on the ground • Climate: Around 70° F • Relationship: Omnivore • Reproduction: Must be at least 10 years old. Females only produce 2-6 offspring in 40-50 year lifetime
Basic facts • This animal lives in a troop of up to 30. • It is lead by an alpha male called the silverback • Males backs turn silver at the age of 13 • 9 month gestation period for offspring • Only predators are the human and a lepord every now and then • Weren’t know to science until 1902
