Learning Outcomes • ALL students WILL be able to describe how scoring can be used in a computer game to provide a “win” situation. • MOST students WILL explain how scoring can be used to cause characters to change behaviours thus making a game dynamic and challenging • SOME students WILL be able to apply this knowledge independently in order to add extra depth and complexity to their Kodu game
Play Bonk-Out • Load up “Lesson 9 – Bonk-Out” off Teaching Resources. • You have 3 mins to play the game in small groups.
Discussion : Bonk-Out • Was the game fun? • Look at the code. Who can tell me... • How timers and points are used in the game. • How does the action compare to other games that user points you have plaued?
Activity – Game Creation • Carry on developing your game you started last week. • Use what we have learnt today and the sheet provided to help think about how you could include score to change the behaviour of characters in your game.
