  2. Learning Objective • Write the Learning objective onto your Self Assessment Sheet • LO: Learn more on scoring and the basics of communication.

  3. Learning Outcomes • ALL students WILL be able to describe how scoring can be used in a computer game to provide a “win” situation. • MOST students WILL explain how scoring can be used to cause characters to change behaviours thus making a game dynamic and challenging • SOME students WILL be able to apply this knowledge independently in order to add extra depth and complexity to their Kodu game

  4. Play Bonk-Out • Load up “Lesson 9 – Bonk-Out” off Teaching Resources. • You have 3 mins to play the game in small groups.

  5. Discussion : Bonk-Out • Was the game fun? • Look at the code. Who can tell me... • How timers and points are used in the game. • How does the action compare to other games that user points you have plaued?

  6. Activity – Game Creation • Carry on developing your game you started last week. • Use what we have learnt today and the sheet provided to help think about how you could include score to change the behaviour of characters in your game.

  7. Self Assessment ---HOMEWORK 5--- • Use your Self Assessment Sheet to assess your progress against today’s learning objective.   
