Certification • Col Alphronzo Moseley, ESC/GA, is the certification authority • Level 2 (Essential) certification of the data chain: • DAFIF development – Type 1 letter of Approval to NGA for DAFIF development – 1 April 2004 • KC-135 Block 40 version 4.01 database – Type 2 letter of Approval to ESC/AU for development of the navigation database for KC-135 using BAE developed software – 1 April 2004 • Error Tracking – Letter of Approval to SSF for problem reporting and tracking process – 1 April 2004 “GA LEADS THE WAY”
SSF Audit • System Support Facility (Hill AFB) audit held on 29 June. Findings: • Thorough review of the DAFIF data error reporting process service plan – satisfactory • SSF Action: Review the process and “clean-up” the flow – review at this DWG • Determined that MPSSF is capable of its own internal audits • SSF working to increase automation • GATM Discrepancy Review Board established (SSF the administrator) • Conclusion: No change: Certified at Level 2 “GA LEADS THE WAY”
NGA Audit • Semi-annual audit held at NGA on 10-11 August 2004. Findings: • Process continues to be compliant • Progress made in developing Quality Management and Configuration Control • NGA Action to coordinate/share data with Hill AFB • NGA Action to document procedure in the test plan • NGA Action to prevent software changes by contractors without NGA direction • Quality checking of EUROCONTROL data • MAGVAR procedures were thoroughly reviewed • Potential problem – Integration of NGA Data • Conclusion: No change: Certified at Level 2 “GA LEADS THE WAY”
KC-135 Ver 4.0.1 Audit and Interim Ver 4.1 Audit • AFMSS Software development audit on version 4.0.1 completed. Findings: Process for creating version 4.0.1 certified at Level 2 • AFMSS Software development audit for ver 4.1 held on 17-19 August. Findings: • Development progressing well • SW architecture restructured to simplify testing of upgrades • Issues remain in Configuration Management and Quality Control • Significant number of action items need to be addressed • Conclusion: Version 4.1 should be ready for certification in December 2004 “GA LEADS THE WAY”
Future • JMPS Common Component • CDR with BAE on 18 November 2004 • Awards for both CC and UPCs to follow • Probably different contractors • NGA Semi-annual audit in February • Continuously review trouble reports • Review SSF Audit reports • Action needed: • Respond to proposed NGA database management changes “GA LEADS THE WAY”
