Aerial Overview Survey • Surveys conducted by contract in NIFR, former Cariboo region, Nelson Region, and Coastal FR. Staff and contract in former Kamloops Region. • Area covered is approximately 81.7 million ha (~86% of the provincial land base – not all of it forested).
Aerial Overview Survey • Budget: ~$700,000/yr • Includes: • Survey contractors in each region • Map preparation and digitizing • Quality monitoring and training • Annual report, web site update and web map • All data available electronically on FTP by end of Oct.; input into LRDW

Defoliators • Defoliator outbreaks can cause significant mortality and growth loss and treatment can be justified on known impacts • Operational monitoring and treatment conducted for WSBW and DFTM • ESBW and other defoliators cause damage but treatment not justified • Annual Budget: $843,000 for Btk treatments
