LLML – Aims and objectives • The project addresses museum educators/cultural mediators in charge of adult education in museums or wanting to develop programmes addressed to adults in and with museums. • It aims at designing, delivering and disseminating training and didactic material to support museum educators facing a new challenge in their work.
LLML – Aims and objectives • LLML offers museum practitioners the opportunity to develop the skills to deal with underrepresented segments of the public in a European perspective while exchanging experiences with colleagues belonging to different countries and institutional frameworks. • It also offers the general public, and in particular adults, a wider and more qualified access to the cultural heritage and to museums through educational offers tailored to their expectations and learning styles.

Actions - Outcomes • Mapping of training needs of museum educators/cultural mediators in Europe as related to the needs of adult learners • A test training course offered to participants from the partner countries to share best practice and to implement quality standards in the delivery of educational services addressed to adults (Italy October 2005) • Two training courses offered through publication on the Grundtvig 3 catalogue (The Netherlands, May 2006; Portugal September 2006)
Actions - Outcomes • A“Handbook of good practice for adult educators in museums” with relevant material and case studies emerged from the background research and from the training seminars, for further dissemination • Disseminationthrough the publication, partner web sites, conferences, museum trade fairs and other public occasions
Sustainability • All the project partners can carry out training courses and already do it as part of their remit: • IBACN • EMF • Niace • Engage • APOREM • The Netherlands Museums Association • Amitié • ECCOM • The project will provide each partner with a know how in training museum professionals in lifelong learning, each can use in the own country.
