Have you… made a comment on blog? participated in appi-ict group? worked with images? uploaded power point and moviemaker? added (blog) feeds to netvibes?
Learning Objects • any digital resource, • single file such as an animation, • a video clip, • a discrete piece of text, • URL, • a collection of contextualised files, that can be used to support learning
What are their pedagogical implication? • highly ‘customisable’ • flexible • fresh • fun • learner-made • indefinitely recyclable!

What is a wiki? • It is a collaborative webpage. The idea is that more than one person be allowed to contribute to the page. • Wiki supports hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and cross-links between internal pages. • It encourages democratic use of the Web and promotes cooperation and collaboration.
How is it different from a blog? • not organized in chronological posts, but in pages according to the author(s)'s wish, • allows the insertion of pictures, video and embedment of learning objects, • doesn't allow comments, only authorship, • pedagogical use more restricted to writing, editing and publishing.
WIKI Task • Look into a wiki to grasp the concept, http://4breakfast.pbworks.com/ http://oxfordinstitute.pbworks.com/FrontPage • Collaborate and experience it yourself, http://teachersatrisk.wetpaint.com/ • Design one for your students

What is a WebQuest? • is an inquiry-oriented online tool for learning, • reproduces a research scheme, • involves cooperative group work, • the information required comes from WWW sites pre-selected by the teacher.
What are the essential components? • Introduction, • Task, • Process, • Resources, • Evaluation, • Conclusion.
Introduction • provides background information and motivational scenarios, • roles assignment: "You are an underwater research scientist" , • provides an overview of the learning goals to students.
Task A formal description of what students will have accomplished by the end of the WebQuest.
Process A description of the steps learners should go through in accomplishing the task, with links embedded in each step.
Resources consists of a list of the resources (bookmarked Web sites, print resources, etc.) that your students will need to complete the task.
Evaluation : • needs a rubric for evaluating students' work, • should be fair, clear, consistent, and specific to the tasks set, • clear goals, matching assessments to specific tasks, and involving the learners in the process of evaluation.
conclusion • allows for reflection by the students and summation by the teacher, • allows discussion of possible extensions and applications of the lesson, • encourages your students to suggest ways of doing things differently to improve the lesson.
WEBQUEST Task • Look into a wEBQUEST to grasp the concept, collaborate and experience it yourself, http://phpwebquest.org/newphp/webquest/soporte_tabbed_w.php?id_actividad=14716&id_pagina=1 • Design one for your students
