BACK THEN. • Oprah Gail Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi on January 29th, 1954. • Her parents were Vernita Lee and Vernon Winfrey • Oprah was raised with her grandmother for 6 years. • She had a growing like for public speaking. • When Oprah turned 6 her mother decided to take her back home and she stayed there for 7 years.

  3. GOOD Girl gone bad! Hard times. • When Oprah moved to her mothers house she faced many hardships in her life. • When she was only 9 years old she was raped by her cousin, molested by her mothers friend and by her own uncle. • She kept all the pain to her self and became rebellious. • she then lived with her dad, and she was pregnant but gave birth to a still-baby.

Success! • When Oprah turned 19 she got her first job as a reporter for a radio station in Nashville • After she entered Tennessee state university. • Oprah won many pageants like “Miss black Nashville” and “Miss Tennessee.” • Oprah hosted a talk show in Baltimore called “people are talking.” • In 1986 the “Oprah winfrey show” was introduced and now is hit. • She also got a role in the film “the color purple”
