Oprah quotes: “I was treated wrong as though something was wrong with me because I wanted to read all the time”. • Oprah was influenced to become famous on television when she was nine, seeing Sidney Poitier win the Academy Award for working in “Lilies of the Field”. • AM Chicago, where Oprah once co-hosted, was named “The Oprah Winfrey Show” because of her huge success in bring the station to enormous proportions.
