  2. Visit to an Apple &Pumpkin Farm • At the Farm • How an apple grows • How a pumpkin grows • Animals at the farm

  3. The Apple Orchard • Plant apple seeds in the soil. • Seeds will grow into little sprouts. • A tree will grow. • Apple blossoms that are pollinated will grow into apples. • In the fall apples are ready to pick.

The Pumpkin Patch • Plant pumpkin seeds in the soil. • The seeds will germinate and sprout. • Pumpkins will develop into vines, that grow along the ground. • Leaves, then blossoms, will appear to be pollinated. • The pumpkin will begin to grow from the blossom. They are green until the fall when they begin to turn orange.

Animals on the Farm • Many farms have animals called livestock. • It is a lot of work to take care of all the different animals. • The animals live in a barn on the farm. • There are also fields to let the animals move around and graze on the grass. • All the animals eat certain foods that the farmer feeds them.
