Appreciating Differences in Other Cultures In this activity, you will read about some of the customs of the Japanese People and then you will be asked to write about a custom in your culture. Next, read the article about How to take a Japanese Bath. Next, read the article about Japanese New Year With your partner, small group, or class, discuss the similarities and differences between the Japanese Culture and your culture. Now select a tradition in your culture and describe the process in detail. Write the description so that a person from another culture would understand. Use the examples you read to give you ideas. Remember how important it is to value the similarities and differences of all cultures!
