  2. Agenda • System Overview • Target Market • System Specifications • Minos S651 • Minos 845EM • Summary

  3. System Overview • We are releasing two micro-ATX platforms in order to migrate over to P4 533FSB and USB 2.0 support • The S651 is based on the SiS 651 chipset with integrated video, audio, and LAN • The 845EM is based on the Intel 845E chipset with integrated audio and LAN, but no onboard video) • Both systems come with an AGP 4X slot • The S651 will have both DDR266/PC2100 and DDR333/PC2700 support • The 845EM only comes with DDR266/PC2100 support

  4. Target Market • Due to the flexibility of the 845EM and S651 systems, both units can be targeted for multiple market segments (entry level/home, business, corporate, or high performance), depending on the system configuration • The S651 is highly flexible because it comes with integrated video, audio, and LAN, and it’s very expandable due to its AGP slot, 533FSB support, and DDR266/333 memory support • For the 845EM, you do need to add an AGP video card, but with 533FSB support, it can scale up to P4/2.80GHz • Both platforms come with USB 2.0 support

  5. Minos S651 System Specifications • Chassis - Minos midtower (MT) or desktop (DT) chassis w/ 180W power supply - 2 x front USB ports, 1 x front headphone and 1 x microphone jack - 2 x 5.25” external drive bays (both) - 2 x 3.5” external drive bays (MT) - 1 x 3.5” external drive bays (DT) - 1 x 3.5” internal drive bay (MT) - 2 x 3.5” internal drive bay (DT) • Processor / Chipset - SiS 651 chipset - Socket 478 (Willamette/Northwood core) - Pentium 4/1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0A, 2.2, 2.4, 2.5, and 2.6GHz - Pentium 4/2.26, 2.4B, 2.53, 2.66, and 2.80GHz - Celeron 4/1.7, 1.8, 1.9GHz or higher - Supports 400/533MHz FSB with Intel NetBurst™ • Memory - 2 x 184 pins non-ECC DDR266/333 DIMM slots - 1.0GB maximum (2 x 512MB) • Slots - 3 x PCI (32 bit/33MHz) 2.2 compliant slots - 1 x AGP 4x slot - 1 x CNR slot

  6. S651 Integrated Devices and Back I/O • Integrated Devices and Back I/O Connectors - 1 x floppy disk drive controller - 2 x ATA-100 IDE channels - Onboard AC97 audio 1 x line out (speakers) 1 x line in 1 x microphone 1 x joystick/MIDI port - Onboard Realtek 8101L 10/100Mbps LAN 1 x RJ-45 - Onboard SiS 651 video 1 x VGA port - 1 x rear COM/serial port - 1 x rear LPT/parallel port with SPP/EPP/ECP support - 2 x rear USB 2.0 ports - 1 x PS/2 keyboard - 1 x PS/2 mouse

  7. S651 Integrated Video Notes • It is shared with the system memory • It is use selectable in the BIOS at 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64MB; the default is 32MB • The more memory you allocate for the onboard video, the higher the monitor resolution and color depth • For the majority of users, 32MB is more than enough to drive their 17”, 19”, or even 21” monitors • For example, if you have 128MB of system memory and the onboard video memory is set at 32MB, it will decrease your total system memory down to 96MB (128MB – 32MB = 96MB) • If you use the onboard video, you will lose A MINIMUM OF 4MB from the system memory • If you add an AGP video card, it will automatically disable the onboard video and you’ll get the full amount of system memory • You cannot use an AGP video and onboard video at the same time
