Agenda • System Overview • Target Market • System Specifications • Summary
System Overview • The Athena 845E Series is a refresh of our existing Athena 845D platform • We will be releasing two versions: Athena 845E (based on the Micro-Star MS-6566E board) and Athena 845EBG2 (based on the Intel D845EBG2 board) • The 845E series is based on the Intel 845E chipset which adds two important features: • 1. Support for both 400 and 533MHz FSB Pentium 4 CPUs • 2. Support for USB 2.0 (which is downwardly compatible with current USB 1. devices); USB 2.0 is also known as Hi-Speed USB; USB 2.0 (at 480Mbps) is 40 times faster than USB 1.1 (12Mbps) • The 845E series will continue to use DDR266 memory
Target Market • The target market of the Athena 845E series is the high-end desktop segment, for both the business and educational users • The 845E series is an ideal desktop if the user intends to use it for digital content creation (Adobe Photoshop for graphics, Adobe Premier for video editing, etc.) • 533MHz FSB support ensures an upgrade path to the fastest possible P4 • USB 2.0 allows you to connect external HDD or CD-RW drives at 480Mbps
