System Overview • The Kaypro C1000 is based on the Intel Centrino Mobile Technology platform with a 15.0" LCD display • The C1000 is based on the Pentium M mobile processor with 1MB L2 cache for optimal notebook performance • The C1000 uses the Intel 855 chipset with Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video • The onboard video uses Intel DVMT (Dynamic Video Memory Technology) memory architecture • Systems with 128MB, DMVT will allocate up to 32MB for video memory; systems with >=256MB, DVMT will allocate up to 64MB of video memory • Wireless 802.11B, USB 2.0, and Firewire (IEEE1394) support is standard

  4. Intel Centrino Mobile Technology • Intel's Centrino mobile platform is a combination of three different technologies • 1. Based on the new Pentium M processor - Comes with 1MB L2 cache for optimal mobile performance - Available in speeds of 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7GHz (400FSB) - Comes with enhanced SpeedStep™ technology for extended battery life (up to 5 hrs; almost double from the current 2.5 hrs) • 2. Based on the Intel 855 mobile chipset - Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video - Up to 2GB of DDR266 memory • 3. Based on the Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 802.11B adapter - Comes with Intel Intelligent Scanning Technology for power reduction

Target Market • The target market of the Kaypro C1000 is the education, home, or business market segment that needs a slim and high performance notebook with integrated wireless support • Since the C1000 is based on the Intel Centrino Mobile platform, it is optimized for extended battery life and performance • This notebook is intended for users who want the mobility and convenience of a notebook without sacrificing the performance of a high-end desktop • Extended battery life (up to 5 hours) means less time recharging and more time on the road

The volume control is located here, as well as the Sony Memory Stick or Secure Digital card (these two cards are used for storing images from digital cameras). The single type-II Cardbus slot is located to the right of that. The IR (infra-red) port is to the right of the Cardbus slot The C1000 as seen from the right side. A Keningston compatible keylock is provided for extra security
