Task 1. Finished. Perform model simulations for the NEA Basin at 100x100 m, 1000x1000m, 10000x10000m resolutions.
Task 2. Finished. Develop specification for how to integrate the SnowModel with ENKI. 1) Send Sjur a small piece of model test code for initial testing. 2) Send Sjur an independent version of the MicroMet model code to provide the next level of complexity. 3) Send Sjur the full SnowModel code. These codes are available at: ftp://gliston.cira.colostate.edu/sjur/
Task 3. Finished. Adjust the SnowModel precipitation lapse rate to get closer to the 614 mm observed SWE on 21 April 2008. Provide these new parameter values to Statkraft.
Set: iprecip_lapse_rate_user_flag = 1 in snowmodel.par. Set: prec_lapse_rate correction factor original values 0.75 0.0 0.87 -0.2 0.96 -0.3 1.01
Data averaged over the snow observation mask. Precipitation correction factor ~ 0.75. 614 mm SWE on 21 April 2008
Task 4. Finished. Adjust the SnowModel blowing snow coefficients to get more erosion / deposition in the Alpine zone. Provide these new parameter values to Statkraft. Recommend running hourly time steps with the original model configuration: dt = 3600 sec Utau_flag = 0.0 Utau_t_const = 0.25
Task 5. Finished. Send Sjur the 21 April 2008, SnowModel simulated SWE (mm) distribution in ARCGrid format. This has been done and is available on my anonymous ftp site: ftp://gliston.cira.colostate.edu/nea/ swed_21_April_2008_100m_hourly_w-assim.dat
Task 6. Finished. Send Knut Sand the 21 April 2008, SnowModel simulated snow density distribution in ARCGrid format. This has been done and is available on my anonymous ftp site: ftp://gliston.cira.colostate.edu/nea/ sden_21_April_2008_100m_hourly_w-assim.dat
Task 7. Finished. Run the RUNOFF ROUTING MODEL for the Nea river basin.
Task 8. Finished. Provide Statkraft with the RUNOFF ROUTING MODEL code, the test simulation configuration for the Nea river basin, and the results. Do I need to refine these simulations before passing them on to you? The code and simulation are available on my ftp site : ftp://gliston.cira.colostate.edu/nea/
Task 9. Finished. Final development of the Multilayered SnowModel. This has been fully tested and integrated into SnowModel. The code is available on my ftp site: ftp://gliston.cira.colostate.edu/nea/
Task 10. Finished. • Modify/adapt SnowModel for ENKI integration. • Introduce default settings • Limit users choice • Idiot proofability • Recommended default values are listed in the snowmodel.par file. • The model code checks for inappropriate values and sends error messages for bad values.
