Friedman (born 1962) • documenting the scenes and key players of the skate, punk and early hip-hop cultures • Black Flag, Ice-T, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Misfits, Bad Brains, Beastie Boys, Run-DMC and Public Enemy as well as classic skateboarding originators such as Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Alan Gelfand, Duane Peters and Stacy Peralta. among others

  4. In 2008 GEF worked on two collaborations with graphic artist Shepard Fairey. They used iconic GEF photographs of Tony Alva and Public Enemy for limited edition graphic posters done in the usual Fairey style. Signed by Friedman, Fairey, and Alva/Chuck D. Sold to collectors through the Obey Giant web site. The Alva and Public Enemy posters both sold out in a matter of minutes.
