In 2008 GEF worked on two collaborations with graphic artist Shepard Fairey. They used iconic GEF photographs of Tony Alva and Public Enemy for limited edition graphic posters done in the usual Fairey style. Signed by Friedman, Fairey, and Alva/Chuck D. Sold to collectors through the Obey Giant web site. The Alva and Public Enemy posters both sold out in a matter of minutes.
Since 2008 they have Also collaborated on several others, hoping to continue to be able to do one a year.
