Ways to reduce your carbon footprint. • Buy organic and local- Chances are that the food was produced in an eco friendly way, and not transported too far. • Packaging to a minimum- Buy loose fruits and vegetables rather than packages, and bring a reusable bag rather than the bags the store gives you.
Another way • Stop using bottled water- Bottled water leaves a huge carbon footprint, so try buying a water filtration system and a reusable water bottle.
Reducing CO2 output in your home: • To save on heating costs and carbon emissions make sure all windows and doors are closed and secured properly when heating or air conditioning your house. • Make sure your attic is properly insulated. • Unplug all unused appliances and electronics, especially video gaming systems. • Switch from regular incandescent light bulbs to compact fluorescents, which save 75% of the electricity that would normally go into incandescent light bulbs.
More… • Take a cold shower! You use less energy, and in turn give off less CO2 when you take a cold shower.
Yet another way ☺☺ • Only drive a high gas mileage car. • Use mass transit such as busses, subway, trolleys, or eco-friendly ways of transportation such as walking, or a bicycle.
