AboutFamilyBusinessNetwork(FBN) The Family Business Network (FBN) is a not-for-profit international network that is run by family businesses, for family businesses, with the aim of strengthening success over generations. FBN’s International Network was developed in 1989. Today with over 10,000 individual members from over 4,000 family businesses across 60 countries, FBN is continually increasing its ability to help family businesses grow, succeed and prosper through the exchange of best practices, new ideas and the peer-to-peer learning activities within its network. Many time-honored families that have succeeded for generations are FBN members, including: Alessi, Chopard, ErmenegildoZegna), GaleriesLaFayette, Moet & Chandon, Puig Corporation, Salvatore Ferragamo, Swarovski, Villeroy & Boch, etc.

FBNCODEOFCONDUCT • Trust and Openness- The network is founded on the principles of open communication and trust • Participation-Active participation by members is the vital ingredient that makes the network valuable. • Confidentiality-Members are committed to sharing experiences and insights in a atmosphere of confidentiality • Respect & Professionalism-Discussion and debates are always conducted in a respectful and professional manner • Non-Solicitation-The Network is not a place to sell products or services to other members. It is a forum to learn from the exchange of ideas, experiences and information.

Programmes---Multi-generationalExperienceLearning Conversation With Families This quarterly event hosted by family business owners allows family members to share their experiences of operating their businesses are discusses in a confidential and informal setting conducive for open and candid information exchange. The families include but not limited to: Chopard,Firmenich,AudemarsPiguet, Ginox,Carand‘Ache,Morand,Hermes,Bobst,Fonjallaz etc.

Programmes---PeerLearning Peers are in a position to offer support by virtue of relevant experience: he or she has “ been there, done that” and can relate to others who are now in a similar situation. FBN offers a safe platform for all members to share and exchange knowledge, experiences and to actively contribute to the personal and professional growth of other members in the network. Regardless of generation or age, members meet as equal in social and peer programmes, across generations, where the different perspectives they bring enrich the learning experience for all. COMPASS COMPASS introduces members to the value and benefits from participating in a small circle of people from diverse backgrounds, expertise and generations. Such a circle of members share their experiences within strict protocol and under high level of confidence for members to discuss personal, family and business issues close to their hearts.

  7. Programmes---InternationalInternship Through FBN, Next Generation members can access FBN I internships (for a period of one to six months) in another member family business management. This programme allows up and coming business leaders to build an international network, identify potential mentors from world-class business families while getting invaluable working experience. This is challenging but worthwhile experience …… this is a chance that cannot be missed.

  8. Programmes---Global Summit Global Summit Every year FBN organise a high-profile International Summit for business-owning families. This provides outstanding opportunities to learn from each other about family business cultures and best practices from around the world. Questions that we deal with include:– How do we combine the best of the old and new ways of running a business?– How do we keep the business looking forward?– How do we prepare younger family members to take over our business?

Programmes---Learning Journey Learning Journeys Learning journeys are designed to give members valuable on-the-ground experience in business, social entrepreneurship and environmental concerns The programme allows participants to explore new business and social models as they meet and share ideas with business, civil society and community leaders.

Programmes---Learning Journey Learning Journey to Japan April 12-17, 2015 Japan is one of the country that enjoys a great number of time-honored families businesses, with 25,321 succeeded for 100 years and 21 for 1,000 years. During this journey, members visited the Hoshi spring hotel with a history of 1,300years, TORAYA, succeeded for 500 years as well as TANITA.

Programmes---Learning Journey Learning Journey to Italy May 11-16, 2016 This Learning Journey was led by Chavalit Fredrick Tsao, President of FBN Asia and Chairman of IMC Pan Asian Alliance Group. The highlights of this journey was that FBN members visited Ermenegildo Zegna Group (fashion), Zambon Group (pharmaceutical), Ferrari S.p.A. (automobile), Salvatore Ferragamo Group (fashion), Frescobaldi.
