MarineLine vs. Sigma Shipowner performs own test to see which coating performs best; MarineLine or Sigma’s Phenguard
MarineLine vs. Sigma Sigma Coatings presentation in 2001 to LSC was “Latest Phenguard (phenol epoxy) would outperform and outlast MarineLine”. LSC decided to test this statement. In July 2001 LSC coated wing tanks and center tanks on the M/T “Dzintari” with MarineLine 784 and Sigma Phenguard.
MarineLine vs. Sigma Both coatings were applied by the same applicator and supervised by a Sigma inspector and a MarineLine inspector. Over the last 2½ years of sailing both Sigma coated tanks and MarineLine coated tanks carried the Same cargoes as approved in Sigma’s Cargo Resistance List.
MarineLine vs. Sigma Cargoes carried were CCP’s to Black Oil. The following pictures with inspector’s comments show MarineLine 784 out performs Sigma’s Phenguard. For Long Term Performance with Versatility The Choice is MarineLine.
