  2. Gradebook Highlights • Two versions of Gradebook • Non-standards-based Gradebook • Standards-based Gradebook • Gradebook calculation types • Categories and assignments • Total points • Categories only • Categories total points

  3. Standards-Based Gradebook Preparation • District-wide preparation • Teacher preparation • Must be using Version 2.12.20

  4. District-Wide Preparation • Determine standards to be used throughout district. • Information required: • Numbering system • Standard name • Standard description • Grade level(s) to be used • Academic strand to be met

  5. Entering Standards at District Level • Identify individual who will enter data. • Must have access to District view, Assessment tab, Learning Standards side-tab.

  6. Entering Standards at District Level To add standard: From Options menu, select Add.

  7. Entering Standards at District Level • Enter data relative to standard. • Important Note: Make sure you identify Department that uses this standard. This is required to match up courses and competencies more easily.

  9. Two Methods of Pairing Standards to Courses • Courses in My Department Method atStaff Level • Learning Standards/Courses Method at District Level

Pairing Standards to Courses: Courses in My Department Method • At each school, identify individual best suited to pair up courses to standards. • Give this individual user role privilege to enter data. • Do not give all teachers same user role privilege. Ensures proper oversight of courses and standards.

  11. Pairing Standards to Courses: Courses in My Department Method When appropriate user role privilege is given, Courses sub-tab appears under Tools tab.

  12. Pairing Standards to Courses: Courses in My Department Method Click Courses side-tab. List of courses that teacher is responsible for appears.

  13. Pairing Standards to Courses: Courses in My Department Method To insert standards for all courses in department, click Filter , and select Courses in My Department.

  14. Pairing Standards to Courses: Courses in My Department Method • All courses in department appear. • Important Note: This is the point where indicating the department in the creation of the standards is relevant.

  16. Pairing Standards to Courses: Courses in My Department Method To add a standard: From Options menu, select Add.

  18. Pairing Standards to Courses: Courses in My Department Method To select standards outside of the department, deselect Department standards only checkbox.

  19. Pairing Standards to Courses: Learning Standards/Courses Method • To pair standards to courses using this method, user completing data entry must work from prepared list of standards with all of courses using that particular standard. • This method pairs the courses to the standard rather than the standards to the course.

  20. Pairing Standards to Courses: Learning Standards/Courses Method In District view, click Assessment tab, then click Learning Standards side-tab.

  21. Pairing Standards to Courses: Learning Standards/Courses Method • Click on standard to select it. • List of all district courses matched to that standard appears. • To add course to standard: From Options menu, select Add.

  22. Pairing Standards to Courses: Learning Standards/Courses Method • Pick list of department courses appears. • To select a course outside the department: Deselect Department courses only checkbox.

  23. Teacher Preparation After all standards have been paired with courses, teacher may only use Standards-Based Gradebook.

  24. Teacher Preparation Creating Assignments • To create assignment: Click Assignments side-tab. • From Options menu, select Add. • Select Category Code. • Enter Code Name. • At Name field, type a descriptive sentence. • At Description field, type detailed description of what assessment is measuring.

  25. Teacher Preparation Creating Assignments • Set Grade Scale to District Grade Scale. • Set Grade Term to Q1, Q2, Q3, or Q4. • Set Maximum Points to 100 or any point value.

  26. Teacher Preparation Creating Assignments • Before saving assignment, click blue Standards sub-tab, and select standards being measured by the assignment.

Teacher Preparation Examining Standards Statistics • For teacher to examine all standards averages to determine proficiency: click Gradebook tab, and then Scores side-tab. • At View prompt, click Normal or Standards mode. • Gradebook columns will change to all standards categories for examination purposes. At Standard drop-down, select Averages to view all of the standards columns
